Andaman & Nicobar Student Hemakshi Kumar Emerges as State Topper in JEE Main 2026 Session 1

Port Blair, Feb 18, 2026: Hemakshi Kumar, a student of PhysicsWallah (PW) and resident of Port Blair, has secured the highest score in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 Session 1. Hemakshi achieved an overall score of 98.26 percentile, with a notable 97.93 in Physics, 97.71 in Chemistry, and 96.24 in Mathematics.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) declared the results for Session 1 on February 16, 2026, for the examination conducted across 658 centres globally. Hemakshi, who prepared through PW’s digital learning ecosystem, credited her success to the structured curriculum and accessibility of the Arjuna JEE and Lakshya JEE programs.

Hemakshi Kumar from Andaman & Nicobar who secured the first position in the state, said,”Preparing for a national-level exam from the islands came with its own set of challenges. Being away from major cities sometimes felt limiting, but the online format gave me access to the same quality of learning and resources as students anywhere in the country. The strong focus on concept clarity and the flexibility to revisit lectures on the app whenever I needed played a crucial role in my preparation and boosted my confidence throughout the journey.”

Hemakshi’s achievement from the Andaman & Nicobar Islands reflects PhysicsWallah’s ongoing efforts to make competitive exam preparation accessible across different geographies. By offering a choice between online classes, offline Vidyapeeth centers, and hybrid Pathshala hubs, the company through the multi-format approach aims to ensure that aspirants in remote regions have access to the same resources and guidance as those in major cities, working towards a more level playing field for national-level examinations.

With the second session of JEE Main 2026 scheduled for April, Hemakshi plans to utilize the intervening weeks for focused revision and mock testing to further improve her score.
